I’ve treasured what he has said more than my own meals.”ġ2) Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.”ġ3) Isaiah 40:8 “Grass dries up, and flowers wither, but our God’s word will last forever.”ġ4) Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”ġ5) Ephesians 5:26 “He did this to make the church holy by cleansing it, washing it using water along with spoken words.” We need to love the Bible and to want to know it more and more.ġ0) Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”ġ1) Job 23:12 “I haven’t wandered away from the commands that he has spoken ![]() God is clear, we must have His Word in order for us to grow spiritually. If you claim to be a believer and never crave to know more about God or His Word, then I would be concerned as to whether or not your are a true believer. It is vitally important that we read the Bible. It is through reading the Bible properly that we learn what God is saying, and through that we grow spiritually.Ħ) Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”ħ) Psalm 119:11 “I have thought much about your words and stored them in my heart so that they would hold me back from sin.”Ĩ) Romans 10:17 “Yet faith comes from listening to this Good News-the Good News about Christ.”ĩ) John 8:32 “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Each verse only has a meaning but it can have multiple applications in our life. ![]() ![]() We need to ask who the author was writing to, at what time in history, and what is being said in the proper context. We need to read it hermeneutically correct by using a method called Exegesis. Yet it is all perfectly composed with no contradictions. The Bible is a collection of 66 books written over a span of 1500 years. We should read the Bible one book at a time, and slowly make our way through each book. Many believers open the Bible to a random passage and just start reading. 10 I seek you with all my heart do not let me stray from your commands.” I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?”Ĥ) Psalm 119:130 “ The unfolding of your words gives light it imparts understanding to the simple.”ĥ) Psalm 119:9-10 “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. We read the Bible so we can hear from Him and so that we can learn to live according to His law.ġ) 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”Ģ) Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God proves true he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”ģ) Psalm 56:4 “I praise God for what he has promised. It might be a struggle at first, but the more you do it, the more you will enjoy reading Scripture. God speaks most clearly to us through His Word. As believers we should be reading the Bible every day. God has so many things that He wants to tell us, but our Bibles are closed. ![]()
